A software house website is not aimed at an ordinary customer, but at someone who knows technology themselves: an agency or developer looking for a subcontractor. Such a visitor looks for proof, not slogans. For the AutCode team we prepared a site that combines an offer for agencies, a presentation of its own plugins, a cost calculator and free online audits: autcode.com. In this case study we describe the needs, the solutions and how the site is built.
In brief: a website for a software house and WooCommerce agencies
- Client: AutCode, a team of WooCommerce and AI developers working for agencies (according to the site: a white-label model)
- Industry: software house, IT services for agencies
- Scope: WordPress theme, a modular plugin with a control panel, free audit tools, service, product and pricing pages
- Site language: English
- Technologies: WordPress, WooCommerce, PHP, OpenAI, n8n
- Website address: autcode.com
The challenge: a site for an audience that knows its stuff
An agency choosing a subcontractor risks its relationship with its own client. So it asks about specifics: what exactly the team does, what it has already proven, how it bills projects and whether it will stay discreet. According to the site, AutCode builds custom WooCommerce shops, AI tools for WordPress, n8n automations and integrations with external systems, and works under the agency’s brand.
This gave rise to the requirements for the site:
- a clear “for agencies” message already on the first screen,
- a visible offer divided into four service areas,
- products shown as proof of competence, not just a declaration,
- transparent cooperation rules and a calculator that lets you roughly estimate the cost,
- free tools that show the team’s capabilities on real websites,
- a back end where the team manages modules without touching code.
How we worked on the project
We ran the project in stages, so that every decision was verified before it became costly. First an analysis of the audience and the questions an agency asks. Then information architecture, that is, the layout of subpages and the paths to a quote, products and tools. Next the visual design, implementation of the theme and modules, and testing. In testing we used Playwright scripts that scan the site for console and network errors and check how the cookie banner and form protection work. After launch the site can be extended with further modules without rebuilding the whole.
The solution: a WordPress theme and a modular panel
The site runs on a dedicated WordPress theme with its own palette in shades of purple and on a plugin that is a central, modular control panel. Every major feature is a separate module that is switched on and configured in one place. The whole site is fully in English.

A message for agencies on the first screen
The headline says plainly what AutCode is: a WooCommerce and AI development partner. Two buttons lead to a quote and to products, the two most common goals of a visitor. Below, the site develops its arguments in separate sections: its own products, working in the CET time zone, fixed budgets, the white-label model and billing in several currencies. These are the client’s declarations, which the site is meant to present clearly, not our results.
Four service areas
The services subpage organises the offer into four blocks: custom WooCommerce shops, AI tools for WordPress, n8n automations and integrations with external systems. Each block describes what the team builds and leads to the quote form. This lets an agency quickly see whether the scope fits its project.

Products as proof of competence
The products page shows plugins that the team, by its own description, maintains in production: an AI chatbot, a content and SEO generator, a social media manager, a WCAG accessibility scanner, protection of uploaded files and a schema.org data generator. Each product has a short description and a list of technologies. For an agency this is an important signal, because it sees the level of execution straight away, before asking the first question. We cite the figure of “over 20 plugins” from the client’s site.
Pricing and cost calculator
On the pricing subpage there is an interactive calculator: the visitor chooses the project type, scope, additional requirements and deadline, and the site shows an indicative range. Alongside are rates, payment terms in three stages, a list of items included in every project (including a scope-of-work document, a weekly demo on staging, code handover) and ongoing care plans. This open approach to pricing answers the question an agency asks first.

Free online audits
The most extensive part of the site is the tools where you enter the address of any website and get a report. Available are audits of: SEO, WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility, GDPR (RODO) and cookies, WooCommerce shop health, WordPress security and readiness for AI-based search. According to the descriptions on the site, the tools work without registration, and the result contains a score and a list of fixes. There is also a paid AI Mega Audit, which combines all the scanners with a check of brand visibility in AI answers and a written remediation plan.

- SEO audit: on-page and technical checks, Google PageSpeed, Core Web Vitals and recommendations written with the help of AI.
- Accessibility: a scan against WCAG 2.1 AA (alt texts, labels, contrast, headings, ARIA) with a list of fixes and honest information on what requires manual testing.
- GDPR: cookie consents, tracking scripts, Google Fonts, the Meta pixel, privacy policy and HTTPS.
- Shop and security: WooCommerce configuration, product data, version disclosure, XML-RPC, exposed files and headers.
- AI readiness: AI crawler access, the llms.txt file, structured data and content readability.

Each tool has its own address and a description of what it checks, so it can attract traffic for specific phrases while showing agencies how the team approaches analysis.
The back end: one plugin, many modules
The team does not have to juggle a dozen plugins with different interfaces. The site’s code runs a single plugin with separate modules: audits (SEO, WCAG, GDPR, security, shop, AI readiness), AI Mega Audit, blog, backups, notifications, a client brief form, ads, social media publishing and the Help Ai ticketing system integrated with n8n. The panel shows the state of the modules and the readiness of API keys, and has the OpenAI and fal.ai configuration, along with a connection test, in one place.
SEO, GDPR (RODO) and security
The plugin includes SEO modules: meta titles and descriptions, a sitemap and schema.org data, as well as features that prepare content for AI search engines. The site is also well looked after in terms of consents and form protection:
- A cookie banner with categories: necessary, analytics and marketing.
- A consent log: according to the code documentation, IP addresses are stored as an anonymised hash, and statistics can be exported to CSV.
- Bot protection: a honeypot field and a signed timestamp instead of a captcha, in the registration form, newsletter and comments.
- A hardening module: additional WordPress safeguards.
- Accessibility: a WCAG panel on the site in which the visitor changes font size, contrast, spacing and link underlining.
- Backups from the panel.
Technologies used in the project
- WordPress and WooCommerce as the foundation of the site and user accounts,
- a theme based on Blocs with custom components,
- a custom modular plugin in PHP,
- OpenAI for audit recommendations and file scanning,
- n8n for automating support tickets,
- Playwright for automated tests,
- deployment via FTPS with a deploy script.
The result: a site that shows competence instead of declaring it
We do not give traffic or enquiry figures, because we did not measure them for this description. We can describe what the site changes qualitatively. The offer, pricing, cooperation rules and products are in one place, so an agency can assess the team without exchanging several emails. The free audits give it a concrete sample of the work, and the AutCode team manages modules, content and tickets from a single panel. New tools can be added as further modules. See the site live: AutCode, a WooCommerce and AI partner for agencies. The figures given on the site, such as the number of plugins or years of experience, come from the client.
Who this solution is for
A similar approach will work for software houses, IT companies, marketing agencies and B2B service providers who sell expertise and need proof of competence. The combination of a clear offer, a calculator, products and online tools, and a modular back end lets the site grow together with the offer. It also works well where the offer has several service lines that need organising for different audiences: services separately, products separately, tools separately, with common navigation above and clear calls to action. Such separation helps SEO, because each subpage answers a different phrase. A website alone will not do anything: it needs managing, updating and reliable reports in the tools.
Frequently asked questions about a software house website
How much does a website for a software house or technology agency cost?
The cost depends on the number of subpages, features and integrations. A business card site costs less than a site with user accounts, online tools and an admin panel. We prepare a quote after a conversation about the project’s goals.
Can a company website be entirely in English?
Yes. The AutCode site is in English because, according to the site, the company targets its offer at agencies from North America and Europe. We also build multilingual sites for Polish companies that sell abroad.
Is WordPress suitable for a site with online tools and user accounts?
Yes, if it is well designed. The key is to split features into modules that can be switched on, off and developed independently, without rebuilding the whole site.
Do free tools on the site help win customers?
They can. A tool solves a real problem for the visitor, and the audit result naturally leads to a conversation about fixes. Effectiveness, however, depends on the quality of the report and on whether the traffic reaches the right group.
How do I take care of GDPR (RODO) and cookies on a site for foreign customers?
The basis is a consent banner with cookie categories, a consent log without storing full IP addresses, and loading analytics and marketing scripts only after consent. With audiences from different countries it is worth checking local rules too.
A software house website and online tools: lessons for B2B companies
AutCode aims its offer at agencies, and the site is entirely in English, so location plays no role here. As an agency from Bydgoszcz, we also build sites for companies that sell outside Poland. The most important lesson concerns trust: a technical audience wants to see proof, that is, products, a price list with a calculator and cooperation rules, not slogans. Free audit tools work in the same spirit: they give a sample of the work.
We describe our approach to tailor-made solutions in the article on custom WordPress plugins, and about securing sites with forms and accounts in the text on WordPress site security.
